Table Tennis
CHENNAI: India’s top player Sharath Kamal will be a doubtful starter for the inter-institutional table tennis championship beginning on August 2 at Nagpur. Sharath, who reached the city on Thursday told The Hindu, “I slipped and fell while playing in Barcelona. It’s a slight strain in the right knee. The doctor said that I should be alright in a few days.” Sharath will leave for Nagpur on Friday. Recounting his training experience in France and Barcelona, Sharath said, “it’s one of the best training stints I’ve had in a long time. I have pretty much improved on all aspects of my game. I can feel it. I play at a higher speed and at a much higher level.” — Principal Correspondent
