3.57 lakh assessees file returns

CHENNAI: In the past six days, more than 1.67 lakh assessees, belonging to the salaried class, in the Chennai city have filed their income tax returns for 2008-2009, taking the total number to 3.57 lakh from April to July.

Besides, 1.25 lakh assessees belonging to non-audit business class have also filed their returns. As many as 79,000 people used the online services.
