Fishermen oppose move for port

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Meenavar Peravai (Forum for Fishermen) has opposed the proposed move to set up a port at Paramankeni village in Cheyyur taluk of Kancheepuram district.

A statement issued by Peravai founder R. Anbazhagan stated that permission had been given for another port at Marakkanam, just a few kilometres away from the proposed site. — Special Correspondent
