Co-operative society net profit at Rs. 22.57 lakh

TIRUCHI: The Thuraiyur Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Employees Cooperative Society registered a net profit of Rs. 22.57 lakh during 2006-07. The society covered the TNEB employees working in Thuraiyur, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Jayamkondam, Lalgudi, Srirangam, Tiruchi and Musiri circles.

The society has been making profit ever since it came into being.

The society extended loans to the tune of Rs. 2.93 crore to its members with the financial assistance provided by the Tiruchi District Central Cooperative Bank, its special officer P. Sukumaran said while speaking at the general body meeting.

The society which has 1,022 members sanctioned 14 per cent dividend.
