SHO incurs court’s wrath
New Delhi: A Delhi police officer has incurred the wrath of a city court for dragging his feet for four month on the issue of lodging an FIR over a theft complaint on the pretext that his subordinate was on leave.
“An SHO cannot be so powerless as not being able to do anything in respect to other , it is power and duty of the SHO to lodge FIR, which cannot be dependent upon availability of any one particular police official,” Metropolitan Magistrate Pulastya Pramachala said. The court directed Commissioner of Police to make an entry into service record of SHO I P Estate Inspector Gajraj Singh for the alleged illegality of not registering FIR in the matter.
