Coimbatore: Karthik Shankar and S. Narendran of Team Rams Racing kept a cool head to emerge the pick of the bunch in the 90-minute endurance race in the third leg of the JK Tyre National racing championship at the Kari Motor Speedway in Chettipalayam, here on Saturday. The duo completed 68 laps in 1:30.07 seconds much to the joy of the team. Siblings Sudanand Rajan and Prithveen Rajan of Team WSRF with Leela and Shankar Narayanan and Saif Mir of Team Meco Racing wrested the next two spots. Karthik Shankar sizzlesEarlier, Karthik Shankar of Team TVS Girling, stopped the clock at 01:11.490 for the pole in the Formula LGB Swift category. Sarosh Hataria of Team Red Rooster will start on top of the grid in the premium Formula Rolon Class. Starting second and third will be his teammate Akhil Khuslani and Saahil Shelar of Team Speed NK Racing respectively. Radha Selvarajan, as expected, clinched the pole in the Super Saloon category. So did Mazdayar Vatza in the Race Star Class. The main races will commence on Sunday at 10 a.m. Entry for the public is free. — Sports Reporter
