Upset win for Athresh

Mysore: Second-seeded Akhil V. Athresh of BNM, Bangalore, scored an upset win over top-seeded A.R. Navaneeth of Horizon TT, Bangalore, at 8-11, 11-8, 12-10, 12-14, 11-6, 6-11, 11-5 and clinched the junior boys singles title in the LIC Cup State ranking table tennis tournament at the Chamundivihar Stadium here on Saturday.

Meanwhile in the junior girls singles final, second-seeded Nisarga N. Poojari of SAI, Bangalore, shocked the top-seeded N. Poojitha of Horizon TT at 11-7, 11-4, 9-11, 9-11, 12-10, 11-6.
