Cyclist killed in road accident

TIRUCHI: A cyclist died after being hit by a private bus at Melapudur here on Friday. The police identified the deceased as K. Chandran (33) of Sathyamurthy Nagar, E.B. Road. The bus driver, M. Murugesan (26), was arrested.

Sources said that Chandran was riding a bicycle towards Head Post Office when the bus, bound for Central bus stand, hit the cycle while overtaking it. Chandran who fell down and sustained head injury died on the spot. The Traffic Investigation (North) Unit has registered a case.
