Filled applications should be received in Chennai by August 20 ARIYALUR: Those who had cleared the exams for Village Munsif and Karnam held on November 14, 1980 by Revenue Divisional Officers but could not get the posting so far, can apply for the post of Village Administrative Officer. A special qualifying test would be conducted for the VAO post by the Special Commissioner and Commissioner of Revenue Administration on September 7, 2008, at the district headquarters of Madurai, Coimbatore, Salem, Thanjavur and Tirunelveli. EligibilityThe applicants must possess old SSLC (standard IX) or a pass in standard X under 10 + 2 pattern; must have been born on or after October 1, 1954; and must not have exceeded 53 years as on September 30, 2007. According to a communication from Collector R. Sudalaikannan applications could be obtained free of cost from the Collectorate from July 28 to August 18. Filled applications should be delivered either in person or by post to the Special Commissioner and Commissioner of Revenue Administration, Ezhilagam, Chepauk, Chennai, by August 20. Applications will not be accepted after the date.
