NAGAPATTINAM: Mohammed’s all round performance (107 and three for 27) helped Dindigul beat Virudunagar by 139 runs in a D zone league encounter of the TNCA inter-district under-19 cricket tournament here on Friday. Sivakumar’s 74 and an unbeaten 69 by Muruganantham helped Tuticorin defeat host Theni by 59 runs for its second win in the zone ‘F’ league. In another match, Namakkal beat Krishnagiri by eight wickets for its fourth win. The scores: At Nagapattinam: Nagapattinam 209 in 50 overs (Vivek 38, Surendar 34, Sakthirajan 34, Arun four for 51) bt Dharmapuri 64 in 23.4 overs (Haja four for 20, Venkatesan three for 22); Dindigul 243 in 46 overs (Mohammed 107, Ramkumar 39, Muthukumar four for 12) bt Virudunagar 104 in 38.5 overs (Ayyanar four for 17, Mohammed three for 27). At Theni: Tuticorin 243 for eight in 50 overs (Sivakkumar 74, Muruganantham 69 not out, I. Vijay three for 38, I. Sudesh three for 58) bt Theni 184 in 42.2 overs (Arunkanna 40, Murugan three for 29); Krishnagiri 78 in 30.3 overs (M. Premkumar four for 21, Nandakumar three for 21) lost to Namakkal 79 for two in 26 overs (Chiranjini 45).
