Kozhikode: Minister for Cooperation G. Sudhakaran will inaugurate the State-level cultural fest ‘Sahithyotsav’ organised by the Sunni Students Federation (SSF) at Nadapuram, near here, on July 26. Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama general secretary A.P. Aboobacker Musaliyar will be the chief guest on the occasion. Nurturing talentsTalking to newsmen here, SSF State general secretary V.P.M. Basheer said that the festival was a part of the efforts to help keep Islam abreast of the times by nurturing artistic and cultural talents among its followers along religious lines. Only contestants who have been selected and screened from the unit, sector, division and district levels completions can participate in the ‘Sahithyotsav.’ 37 events
Hundreds of participants from across the State will vie for honours in as many as 37 items in the junior, senior and general segments of the competitions in the two-day event. The meet will open with a cultural procession at Nadapuram at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
