Nagam flays scaling down of security

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Legislature Party deputy leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Thursday alleged that security provided to him and party MP E. Dayakar Rao was scaled down as they had been highlighting corruption in the government.

Peeved by the government’s move, they decided not to take security from the district police as envisaged, if the earlier arrangement was not restored. At a press conference, Mr. Janardhan Reddy said it was yet another vengeful action by the government and alleged that the Chief Minister was behind it as he had been targeting the involvement of his family members in various deals.

In both their cases, two well-trained security personnel have been withdrawn.

He said this was nothing but harassing the opposition MLAs and MPs leaving them vulnerable.
