Entries for State-level photo competitions invited

Contest to be held on World Photography Day on August 19

HYDERABAD: The Information and Public Relations Department has invited entries for State-level competitions to be organised on the occasion of ‘World Photography Day’ on August 19.

A press release said entries for the first salon should be on ‘Jalayagnam’, ‘Badi Baata’ (Back to School) and women empowerment, while the second salon entries can be on festivals of AP and INDIRAMMA. The third salon will be best news picture of AP. Prize money includes Rs. 10,000, Rs. 6,000 and Rs. 4,000, respectively, with 10 consolation prizes of Rs. 2,000 each.

Last date for receipt of entries is August 6 and further details may be had from the Deputy Director (Photo) at the telephone number 99493-51506 or Assistant Director (Photo) at 99493-51523. Entries must be in 8” X 12” or 10 X 12” in colour and each participant may send a maximum of five entries per theme.

All photographs must be the original work of the participant and entries sent to the competition will not be returned. Only photographs taken after August, 2007 are eligible for entry and those for best news picture must have been published in any daily/journal of AP.
