Staff Reporter

Hyderabad: A photo exhibition on Bonalu was inaugurated by Minister for Major Industries, Sugar and Commerce, Dr. J. Geeta Reddy at the historic Akkanna Madanna Mahankali Temple, Shalibanda on Thursday evening.

With pictures of the festival taken since the last 59 years on display, Dr. Geeta Reddy looked around the gallery along with D.C.P. South Zone, Atul Singh and president of Akkanna Madanna Mahankali Temple, G. Niranjan.

Speaking to newspersons, Dr. Geeta Reddy said farmers were suffering from the sustained dry spell.

Hoping for rain

Hopefully, with scores of people participating in the bonalu festivities, the rains would come, the Minister said.

A prize distribution ceremony was held during the evening where prizes were given away to winners of various competitions that were organised by the temple committee.
