“Victory of suitcase and defeat of politics”

DEHRA DUN: Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday described the victory of the UPA Government in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday as a “victory of the suitcase and defeat of politics”.

“It has been a sad development and the people will oust the Congress and its allies in the next general elections,” she said. Earlier, addressing a well-attended “aabhar rally” organised by the party to thank Uttarakhand Chief Minister B.C. Khanduri for having provided 50 per cent reservation to women in panchayats, Ms. Swaraj hoped the UPA Government would get the Women’s Reservation Bill passed in Parliament during the coming monsoon session as that alone could ensure a level playing field for women.
