Rice seized

Coimbatore: The Flying Squad officials of the district administration have intercepted a truck near Udumalpet and seized 200 bags of rice meant for distribution under the Public Distribution System (PDS), which was being smuggled to Kerala.

The team led by the Flying Squad Tahsildar, V. Subramanian, intercepted the lorry near Madathukulam after a hot chase. Investigations are on to ascertain the consignor and consignee.
