BETTER ORIENTATION: N.R. Panicker, chairman, Accel Group, Chennai (left), exchanging an MoU with D. Sachithanantham, president, Angel Group of Companies and Angel Institutions (second right), in Tirupur. – COIMBATORE: Angel College of Engineering and Technology, Tirupur, signed a memorandum of understanding with Accel Group, Chennai, to meet the gap that existed between the academia and industry expectations in various fields of engineering. The Mou was signed by D. Sachithanantham, president, Angel Group of Companies and Angel Institutions, and N.R. Panicker, Chairman of Accel Group, according to a college release. The MoU entails hands-on training by the company to college students in the areas of computer hardware and networking, hardware servicing, Windows, Unix, CISCO and Linux administration, Network security specialist, VLSI and embedded design, the release said . Mr. Sachithananthan said the in-plant training would boost the confidence of the students. “This MoU will help students practise the theory they have learnt in the classes and make useful product designs”. Mr. Panicker pointed out that students needed to learn beyond their curriculum to meet the requirements of the industry.
