Call to save power

The Southern Power Distribution Company of AP Limited (SPDCL) Chairman and Managing Director P. Gopal Reddy has called upon the people to save power in view of power shortage looming across the State.

Mr. Reddy said that there was a need for saving the power, as there were some problems in power generation in the State.

Pointing out that some streetlights remained switched on even during day time, he urged the officials to ensure that the streetlights were switched on from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. only. Nearly 50 per cent of power could be saved by following these measures, he said.
