VISAKHAPATNAM: A naval cycle expedition to Kakinada and back concluded at INS Kalinga here on Wednesday. The naval team comprising 20 sailors and two officers led by Lt. Anand Kumar of INS Kalinga set out from Bheemunipatnam on July 17 and reached Kakinada the next day. The team camped at the Naval Enclave in tents. The team members were involved in troop activities like route marches by day and night and in friendly volleyball, ‘tug of war’ and kabbadi matches. They also held an awareness campaign in Kakinada town, highlighting the importance of a clean and green environment. A ‘clean beach’ campaign elicited good response from local people, according to an official release. The expedition helped in creating awareness on a host of environmental issues.
