Counselling centre in Secunderabad saves time

D. V. L. Padma Priya

HYDERABAD: Nervous students and anxious parents, this was the scene outside the EAMCET counselling centre in Secunderabad.

However, due to its low visibility, the venue caters to 150-odd students a day compared to its counterpart at Masab Tank Centre which sees almost 600 students. The centre is located at the Government Institute of Printing Technology, East Marredpally and is in between Secunderabad Railway Station and Jubilee Bus Station. “We wanted to save travel time for students living in the nearby districts,” said Camp Officer V. Nagumani. For many parents, such as Rama Devi and Yusuf Khan, the centre has relieved them the burden of travelling to the one at Masab Tank.

“Two years back I was stuck in traffic with my nephew who had his counselling in Masab Tank, this year I have been saved from that hassle thankfully,” says Yusuf.

Nearer

“We had to travel from Habsiguda to Masab Tank for my elder daughter’s counselling last year, comparatively, this centre is nearer,” said a parent.

M. Arvind, a student from Siddipet, also saved some time. “I don’t have to worry about catching a bus to Masab Tank and reaching late due to traffic,” he said.

Built at a whopping cost of Rs. 50 lakh, the centre can accommodate up to 400 students at a same time and is on par with all seven centres in the State.

Waiting hall

With a spacious waiting hall, two national bank counters, provision for drinking water and most importantly- a generator to handle power cuts, it seems well-equipped to handle any situation.
