Binayak Sen’s release demanded
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: Former Delhi High Court Chief Justice Rajendar Sachar has said the real reason behind the continued incarceration of human rights activist Binayak Sen was that he had thrown a spanner into the works of big industrial houses and the Chhattisgarh Government who were planning to acquire the mineral-rich resources of the State by displacing tribal people.
Speaking at a meeting organised by the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences Front for Social Consciousness, Mr. Sachar lamented the insensitiveness of the authorities to appeals for his release and added that Dr. Sen had exposed the government’s nefarious designs by standing with the people in their struggle.
