NIZAMABAD: Construction workers under the banner of Bhavana Nirmana Rangala Karmika Sangham (BNRKS), here on Wednesday, observed bandh and took out a rally to the Collectorate urging the government to solve their charter of 14 demands. G.O. ignoredLater, addressing a gathering at Rajiv Gandhi auditorium, the sangham leaders lamented that though the Centre issued the G.O in the year 1999 to solve the demands of construction workers it is yet to be implemented in the State. However, some States have already implemented the G.O, he said. DemandsThe demands included payment of equal wage for equal labour for construction workers who are unorganised, pension for old aged workers, one lakh insurance and an equal amount of ex gratia in the event of death during work, sanction of houses, supply of bicycles and tools, issue of white ration cards and ensuring of ESI facility for all construction workers. They submitted a memorandum to Joint Collector Neetu Prasad.
