Posthumous award for Komalam

KOZHIKODE: The Gurupooja Puraskaram of the Kerala Sangeeta Nataka Akademi will be presented posthumously to Nellikode Komalam. Komalam died after the award was declared. Komalam made her presence felt in the drama field for more than 50 years and was one of the first women in the amateur theatre arena. P. Ajith Kumar, the artiste’s son, will receive the award on behalf of his mother at a programme to be held on July 27, general secretary, Deshaposhini Public Library, said in a release here on Wednesday. — Staff Reporter
