BANGALORE: The Karnataka government has decided to impose 20 per cent loadshedding till the end of this month and 25 per cent in August on account of deficient rainfall and the low water level in hydel reservoirs. The State’s power situation is precariously poised and it has been decided to limit daily consumption of power to 100 million units (mu) in July and August from the present 115 to 120 mu a day, Energy Minister K.S. Eshwarappa told the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday. According to sources, Bangalore will have to face loadshedding of about four hours a day. He said the State, which required 128 mu a day, faced a shortage of 26 mu.
