ANANTAPUR: A British woman, Betty Carat Jack (73), was found dead in her room in Prashanti Nilayam at Puttaparthi in the district on Tuesday. Her body was found in a sleeping bag. According to a suicide note found by the police in her room, the woman committed suicide four-days-ago, on ‘Aashada Ekadashi’, with the belief that her soul would incarnate in Satya Saibaba if she died on that day. An attendant on Prashanti Nilayam campus, where the woman was staying for the last several years, informed the police after foul smell was emanating from her room. When the police broke open the door they found the woman’s body in the sleeping bag. The police stated that she could have died due to lack of oxygen in the sleeping bag.
