VISAKHAPATNAM: To cater to the growing need of qualified professionals in the banking and insurance sectors, NIIT’s Asilmetta centre has launched two new courses. Briefing the press here on Wednesday, the Director of the centre N.P. Kishore said that the course of IFBI (Institute of Finance, Banking and Insurance), would cater to the requirement by training the students to handle the job from day one. He also informed that the course is being offered in tie-up with the ICICI Bank. The course is divided into two modules: PGDBO (post graduate diploma in banking operations) and PGDFPRM (post graduate diploma in financial planning and relationship management). The duration is for six months and is open to graduates from all streams with a minimum of 50 per cent marks. The selection process includes a written test and an interview. “The selected candidates will be offered an appointment letter by one of the organisations like ICICI, HDFC, Kotak Mahindra or YES Bank, in the beginning itself, and they can join the firms, upon completion of the course,” said Mr. Kishore. The six months duration will be split into three months of campus coaching and three months of internship, with a minimum stipend of Rs.7,500 in one of the companies. The course fee is Rs. 6,000. To serve the graduates and undergraduates from Telugu Medium, NIIT has launched another new course on hardware, networking and security management. The 3-month course is open to all graduates and intermediate pass students and the course fee is Rs.9,300. The admission test for IFBI is slated for July 27, and the application forms can be had from the NIIT campus in Asilmetta.
