Training to commence in August Institute to be developed COIMBATORE: The Government Industrial Training Institute for Women has announced that admissions for free technical training are open. The training programme will commence in August. The admissions are open for two-year Instrument Mechanic course and two-year Electronic Mechanic course. In Information Technology, the basic training duration will be one year and advanced training would be for six months. The course will include electrical and electronics, Windows, hardware, networking, MS Office, Pagemaker, Correl Draw, Photoshop, 3D Max, Sound Forge, Internet, html, webpage designing, animation, database management, Visual Basic, Tally and Flash. For all the courses, the educational qualification is SSLC (pass). Desktop publishing operator course of one year duration will include MS Office, Internet, Pagemaker, Correl Draw, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Quark Xpress. The basic qualification is Plus Two (pass). The institute will undergo expansion works at an outlay of Rs. 3.5 crore during the current academic year. As per Government norms, candidates from backward and most backward classes, listed communities, scheduled castes and tribe communities, will get a stipend of Rs.50 to Rs.175 per month.
