Withdraw textbook: NRI forum

KOZHIKODE: The Dubai-based Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC) has asked the State government to withdraw the controversial Class VII textbook. C.V.M. Vanimel, Overseas KMCC chief organiser, said in a release that as part of the appeal, a signature campaign was on to highlight the protest of Non Resident Indians against the controversial textbook “that professed non religiosity.” A memorandum to this effect would be presented to Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan and Education Minister M.A. Baby. It was noted that there was widespread opposition to the textbook in the Gulf. — Staff Reporter
