Kozhikode: The district administration has decided to take stern action against brewing and distribution of spurious liquor in the district. A meeting held at the Collectorate here on Tuesday said that residents from Koyilandi and Nadapuram had complained of rampant brewing and distribution of spurious liquor in these regions. A panchayat-level monitoring committee would be formed to check the sale of illegal liquor. Assistant Excise Commissioner C.C. Thomas, Additional District Magistrate T. Bhaskaran, Thooneri block panchayat president M. Damu, among others, participated.
