Aid for indigent folk artists

CHENNAI: Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Monday ordered the release of financial assistance of Rs.1,000 per month to cover 500 more indigent folk artists.

This would benefit as many as 6,891 artistes and would cost the State exchequer Rs.60 lakh annually, according to a government press release.
