Two arrested
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: Two watchmen, who allegedly tried to create panic among the public in the Ashok Nagar area about the presence of a psycho killer, were arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
Natarajan (55) and Alagesan (40), watchmen in an apartment and ATM kiosk respectively, were arrested for spreading rumours that the suspected psycho killer was seen in the locality.
Natarajan had claimed that the psycho killer tried to attack him with an iron rod when he raised an alarm and escaped.
Police who enquired into the happenings concluded that the information was not true and the duo had only tried to spread a rumour.
Commissioner of Police R. Sekar has warned that those attempting to create panic among the people would be taken into custody.
