NREGA programme

The article (‘NREGA: ship without rudder?’ – July 19) exposes how a unique programme for the eradication of rural unemployment and rural poverty and for rural asset creation is being hijacked by exploitative forces with the connivance of government functionaries and politicians in some States. Kudos to The Hindu for highlighting the issue.
