PF accounts statement sent to drawing officers
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: The office of the Accountant General (Accounts and Entitlements), Tamil Nadu, has despatched the General Provident Fund annual accounts statement of the State government employees for 2007-08 to the drawing and disbursing officers concerned.
The subscribers are required to contact the officers under whose payment control they were working as on February 28, 2008, says a release issued on Monday.
The acknowledgement for the receipt of the account slip is to be sent by return post through the respective drawing and disbursing officers. Any discrepancy noticed in deposits and withdrawals in the account slip may be brought to the notice of the AG’s office through the officers concerned.
The AG’s office said it was given to understand that certain authorisations for VI PCA had not been received by some subscribers. About 600 persons have not been authorised for want of full address.
In these cases, authorisation would be sent to the officers who were expected to draw and disburse the amount after obtaining an indemnity bond from the subscribers, stating that “excess amount drawn if any will be refunded in full.”
All subscribers are required to file their nomination, the release said.
The GPF closure applications in retirement cases may be sent to the AG’s office in advance of the date of retirement.
