Kottayam: Claire Helene Nestour, an exchange student from France in the School of International Relations and Politics, (SIRP) MG University; got her first lesson in the need to acquire new life skills to survive in the State even before her university classes started. Within 30 minutes of entering a bus from MG University, on her way to the office of the Superintendent of Police, she was dispossessed off her documents and cash. Exchange programmeAccording to SIRP Director K.M. Seethi, Claire Helene Nestour and her colleague Alice Boulleaux are students of the Institute of Political Studies, Rennes, France and were here for an exchange programme. They had reached Kottayam on July 10 and took admission on Monday morning. The admission committee at the university had verified all the documents and the students were on the way to meet the police to report their stay, he said. Heavy rush in busAccording to the students there was heavy rush in the bus and the two were standing until they reached Kumaranallore. It was then they knew that Ms. Nestour was dispossessed off her purse, which contained her passport, credit cards, identity card issued by the university and Rs.2,000 in cash.
