High scores, yet they fail to make it to final list
Aloysius Xavier Lopez
CHENNAI: A remarkable increase in cut-off marks for the civil service main examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission last year has left many high-scoring candidates in Chennai out of the final list of successful candidates.
The UPSC released the marks of the civil service mains examination on Thursday. “The increase of around 50 marks has been observed in the cut-off marks for the civil service mains exam this year,” said D. Shankar, Director of Shankar IAS Academy.
University of Madras emerged as the university with the highest number of successful candidates in Tamil Nadu.
