Poser to Karunanidhi
CHENNAI: Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) leader Vijaykanth on Sunday wanted to know if the rights of the Tamil fishermen over Katchatheevu were taken away in 1976 what the Chief Minister was doing all these years.
Reacting to Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi’s explanation that the rights of fishermen included in the 1974 agreement between India and Sri Lanka were taken away in 1976 after the Emergency was declared, the actor said the Chief Minister should have persuaded the Centre to retrieve Katchatheevu. – Special Correspondent
