Draft rolls for new Assembly constituencies on Monday

CHENNAI: The draft electoral rolls for all new Assembly constituencies of Chennai after the delimitation will be published on July 21.
Addition to and deletion from the draft rolls, based on January 1, 2008, can be made from July 21 to August 8. Those who have completed 18 years of age as on January 1 are eligible for inclusion in the rolls, says an official release.
The draft rolls are being displayed in polling centres, divisional offices and post offices. Voters are requested to fill Form 6 for inclusion, Form 7 for deletion, Form 8 for change in name and photos and Form 8A for change in address in the constituency.
Completed forms should be handed over to the authorities concerned at the polling centres only by the applicant or his family members. Bulk applications will not be accepted.
In Chennai North, the new constituencies are Tiruvottiyur, Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar, Perambur, Kolathur, Tiru.Vi.Ka Nagar (reserved) and Royapuram. In Chennai South, Virugampakkam, Saidapet, T. Nagar, Mylapore, Velacheri, and Sholinganallur are the new constituencies. Chennai Central will have Villivakkam, Egmore (reserved), Harbour, Chepauk-Triplicane, Thousand Lights and Anna Nagar.
