ELCOT laptop show today

Staff Reporter

PUDUKOTTAI: A one-day exhibition on laptop computer, organised by the Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu (ELCOT), will be held at the Collectorate here on Saturday.

The exhibition aims at facilitating the technical assessment of the laptop by the members of the public before going in for purchase.

Cheaper

Realising the fact that the students in need of laptop purchase it at a higher rate in the market, the ELCOT has come forward to sell it at a fair price, about 40 per cent less than the market price, Collector Reeta Harish Thakkar said in a press release here on Friday.

The release said that the ELCOT marketed two types of laptops costing Rs.29,829 and Rs.31,717.

The Collector said that the ELCOT would sell the laptops to students, journalists, ex-servicemen and services personnel till July 31.

The exhibition will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Conference Hall of the Collectorate, the release added.
