The event will be held from December 12 to 14 Scientist, students will exchange ideas about the field Bangalore: The second edition of Bangalore Nano, a conference of nanotechnology scientists, students, representatives of industry and venture capital institutions and the Government, is to be held here between December 12 and 14. The event is being organised by the Department of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka; Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) and MM Active, a science and technology communication company. The theme of the conference is “Nanotech in India’s future.” Principal Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science and Technology, Ashok Kumar C. Manoli, said nanotechnology was “probably the fastest growing branch of technology in India.” He said it had the potential to transform fields as diverse as aerospace, medical research and agriculture. He said Bangalore Nano would provide a platform for scientists and students to exchange ideas. Minister for Fisheries and Science and Technology Anand Vasant Asnotikar said nanotechnology had the potential to transform all aspects of life. He added that this had “raised the expectations of the general public about the technology.”
