SRM varsity’s sports drive

CHENNAI: The SRM University has come forward to institute school sports scholarship awards to the best school students and meritorious Physical Education Teachers and Physical Directors from various schools in Tamil Nadu.

The awards function will be held at SRM University Auditorium on July 19 (Saturday). A committee consisting of 10 experts from Sports Authority of India, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu and retired Physical Directors identified various schools in different districts of Tamil Nadu has been set up with the help of 30 liaison officers from various districts in Tamil Nadu.

The committee and SRM University have selected 46 poor but talented students who have excelled in 14 different disciplines. Eighteen Physical Education Teachers and Physical Directors have also been selected. — Principal Correspondent
