YSR, Naidu are ‘outsiders’, says Goud

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Nava Telangana Praja Party (NTPP) has chalked out plans to fan out into the districts to improve awareness among people on the injustice meted out to the region by successive governments.

NTPP founder T. Devender Goud told presspersons that on July 19, he would stage a ‘dharna’ at Godavarikhani, highlighting people’s problems that included lack of drinking water, basic health and sanitation facilities and pollution through open cast mining. He would also take up issues that plague employees of Singareni Collieries, with the management.

On August 2, he would conduct meetings in Medak, followed by Nizamabad the next day. Later in the month, Mr. Goud would also tour Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda districts, he said, going on to say that improving awareness in people was the party’s focus.

Replying to a question, he said that as of now, he was ready to cooperate and work with any political party that was pro-Telangana.

Mr. Goud reminded them that Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu were technically ‘outsiders’ who would move out one day. “We are sons of the soil. We were born here and have lived here all our lives. We are not asking for the moon. We are only demanding what is ours by right and to let us live our lives”, he said.
