Dress code for women players sought

CHENNAI: The Bharatiya Janata Party has taken strong objection to the dressing style of women playing volleyball at Besant Nagar beach here and has sought the intervention of the police.

In a petition given to the Commissioner of Police, R. Sekar, on Thursday, the BJP State vice-president, Lalitha Subash, said the dress worn by the players did not suit the cultural standards of Tamil Nadu. She demanded that a proper dress code be introduced and urged the police to take appropriate action.
