ICF, SAI in last four

Dindigul: Three goals by Ashok Kumar and one by Manimaran helped Integral Coach Factory defeat Tamil Nadu Special Police 4-0 and enter the semifinals of the sixth annual TNEB Trophy State-level invitation football tournament at SDAT ground here on Friday.

PKD school takes title

PKD MHSS, Pollachi lifted the TV Sundaram Iyengar Memorial Trophy defeating Khajamian HSS, Tiruchi 25-9, 28-26, 22-25, 20-25, 15-13 in the final of the State-level inter-school volleyball tournament at Madurai on Thursday.

In the play-off for third place, Vel Udayar HSS, Thiruvarur beat Government HSS, Edamalaiyur 25-22, 28-26, 26-24.

Special award: Promising player: R. Vignesh (GHSS, Edamalaiyur).

Flowers in semifinals

Edwin’s unbeaten half century helped Ramesh Flowers CC defeat Dhrangdharh Chemical Works Cricket Club, Sahupuram by eight wickets and enter the semifinals of the Kayal Trophy District-level Twenty-20 cricket tournament at Kayalpatnam on Thursday.

The scores (quarterfinals): DCW CC 109 in 20 overs (Raj 39 not out, James three for 23) lost to Ramesh Flowers CC 110 for two in 17 overs (Edwin 51 n.o., A. James 27 n.o.).

Kayal Sporting Club 98 in 19.2 overs lost to Seconds CC, Tuticorin 99 for three in 14.3 overs.

TDCA celebrations

The annual day of the Tirunelveli District Cricket Association was celebrated at Tirunelveli on Thursday. Mr. K.S. Viswanathan, secretary, TNCA, gave away the Trophies to the Canara Bank-TDCA first and second division league champions and S. Nanda Kumar, vice-president TDCA, distributed the special prizes to the players.

First division (Canara Bank-TDCA Trophy): Champion: India Cements CC; Special awards: Batsman: Saravanan (Lightning CC); bowler: Parameswaran (IOB CC); all-rounder: Nataraj Sankar (India Cements CC).

Second division (Canara Bank-TDCA Trophy): Champion: KKNNP CC; Special awards: Batsman: Alagesan (KKNNP CC); bowler: Sathish (KKNNP CC); all-rounder: Selvam (Selven Stars CC).
