Certificate course in diabetes care launched

CHENNAI: The Directorate of Medical Education has launched a one-year postgraduate certificate course in diabetes care and management for general practitioners in government service. The distance education course is aimed at capacity building among general practitioners, especially at a time when lifestyle diseases are rampant, Director of Medical Education T.P. Kalaniti said on Thursday.

At a function organised by M.V. Hospital for Diabetes to launch an online foot care forum, Dr. Kalaniti said that the first phase would target 1,500 practitioners in the Madras Medical College, the Kilpauk Medical college, the Madurai Medical College and the Thanjavur Medical College.
