Visionary zeal recalled

TIRUCHI: The visionary zeal of Joseph Gnanadikam encouraged scores of visually challenged, speakers observed at the 33rd annual day of Soundarya Home for Visually Challenged Women, Mannarpuram, and death anniversary of the founder Joseph Gnanadikam on Monday.

Director of Dr. Rajamanickanar Historical Research Centre R. Kalaikovan said Dr. Gnanadikam spent his life to improve the lives of people around him. “His sincerity and commitment has inspired many doctors.”

Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts founder S. M. George Adigalar extolled the philanthropy of Dr. Gnanadikam.

“He stood as an example of selflessness. His benevolence attracted people,” Adigalar said .

Presiding over the function, former Rotary International governor Rajadurai Michael promised the centre a van to facilitate easy commute of the inmates. Founder of Organisation for Rehabilitation of Blind in Tiruchi (ORBIT) Gnanadurai Michael eulogised Dr. Gnanadikam for his time management and administrative skills.

Avvai Kalaikovan distributed prizes to winners of various competitions held to mark the annual day celebrations where a souvenir was released.

Centre Director Priya Theodore spoke.
