TIRUCHI: Kurinji College of Technology, Manapparai, entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nineteen Hour Information Technology (NHIT), to expose students to international business practices and enrich their potential to meet industry requirements.

Through this pact signed on Wednesday, the students will get hands-on training by working for projects of the company and earn.

The projects include crafting software for international clients like Google and designing e-governance, e-ration cards and e-commerce software for government.

Profits from these projects will be shared by NHIT and the college. “We will invest 50 per cent of the profit in improving infrastructure and amenities of the college. On-the-job training will be of great advantage for the students during their placements,” college Principal V. K. Raman said.

Students’ technical and communication skills would improve by working on the technical side in designing the software and coordinating with international clients. The college hopes to produce industry-ready candidates by training through a corporate environment. NHIT has set its eyes on a couple of city colleges to train them, its Executive Director P. Dayaparan said.
