Indian team

CHENNAI: India is sending a seven-member team for the World Championship Rescue Games (Life saving sports) to be held in Berlin from July 20 to August 2. Around 4,000 participants are expected to take part in the Games.

Recognised by the IOC, the meet involves 14 pool events and 21 ocean events each for men and women. The Indian team was announced by Dr. Sadayavel Kailasam, Vice-President (Sports), Rashtriya Life Saving Society (India).

The team:

Men: Zuber Ghanchi (Mumbai), Kunal Apte (Pune), Demedu Chodipalli (Hyderabad), Siddharth Pillai and Tarun Murugesh (both TN); Women: Sivaranjini Vaidyanathan and Mridula Rajiv (both TN). Manager: Yusuf Chudesra.
