Probe into ‘abduction’ of boy

Pollachi: The Pollachi police are probing into a complaint of an alleged attempt to abduct a boy on Tuesday night.

It is learnt that Dhanavijayan (6), son of Muthukrishnan, who was returning from his tuition class was kidnapped by a three-member gang.

Even as the family members tried to trace the boy, Muthukrishnan received a phone call from an anonymous person cautioning the father not to approach the police for tracing the boy.

Meanwhile, a lorry driver Mahendran who was returning from Kerala towards Sathyamangalam spotted a boy in tears on the middle of the road near the Tamil Nadu – Kerala border. The lorry driver informed the father and the boy was restored to his family.

During questioning the boy claimed that a three-member gang abducted him in a car.
