Prizes distributed to contest winners

Chennai: Mayor M. Subramanian on Tuesday gave away prizes to winners of essay, drawing, elocution and fancy dress contests held in 65 Chennai Corporation schools. The competitions were organised in connection with Kamaraj Day celebrations. Students dressed themselves up as leaders including Kamaraj, A.P.J.Abdul Kalam and Indira Gandhi for the fancy dress contest. The Mayor said the Corporation would offer unstinting support to educational needs of its students and award scholarships for their higher education.
