CHENNAI: Five senior government officials, including the PWD Secretary and the Member-Secretary, CMDA, were present before the High Court in connection with a writ petition seeking a direction to the authorities to remove the encroachments on Elango Street, R.A. Puram here. The court had ordered their appearance for . The Bench comprising Justices S.J. Mukhopadhaya and V .Dhanapalan said a committee should be appointed to look into the rehabilitation measures for the encroachers.
